I bought my HP DV6910us at Circuit City in mid-July 2008. Computer turns off frequently and then will not start for perhaps 30 minutes. Laptop worked fine until December. I'm a very light user, mosting doing email and web surfing. I can use it for about 15-25 minutes and then it just turns off.Circuit City tried to repair the laptop in January 09. HP has attempted to fix it twice and tomorrow it will be sent back for the third time in three months.I'm hoping for either a replacement product or a refund.Shoulda bought a MAC
After a month or so computer started to crash to the point that nothing could turn it on then randomly start working as if nothing happened. I owned my previous HP Pavillion Laptop for over six years and it did not have any major issues. He kept on asking the same questiosn over and over. This one is pure disappointment.
This computer cannot support any graphic games. It started to work slow within few weeks. It does not matter what we do we cannot improve its performance. I previously was loved all HP products. look for quality somewhere else. It took so much time for me to spell all my information out.
With techichian's help, I was able to start my computer but after all the setting that he suggested my computer crashes every time I close the screen. I am dreading calling India again.
In addition, check if the company uses Indian workers as customer service and avoid them you will save yourself hours. So I bought another HP as my new laptop.
My husband tried downloading GTA and there is no way you can play it on this computer. Finnaly, six months into use it crashed again and I was not able to restart it.
After hours with HP help from India, whom it is very hard to understand. HP is not what it used to be.
For me it is time to look for different company for my electronic products.
Bought for a charity event. Looks fine and works as it states but I would never buy this for personal use. (amd's suck)
This is probally one of the things HP adopted from their new "Compaq" partners who make the worst computers known to mankind and suffer from random computer strokes or other computer death releated problems. After a month, her laptop is glitchy, buggy and slow. My wife bought this laptop the same time I bought my ACER Extensa laptop. The ACER Extensa laptop is flawless and the same price as this machine except in the ACER for this price you get 4gb ram, 350 gb HD and an Intel Core 2 Duo Processor. No matter what we try (formatting the disk), reinstalling the OS, virus scans, memory scans/cleans the only thing we can see is the hardware is cheep and lousy. HP service was no help either. We have traded this bugged laptop in for another ACER EXtensa. So much happier.
When installed, it creates a large "bump" on the bottom of the computer. It also has finger print ID--a feature I wasn't convinced I needed. Shipping was very quick and communication was excellent from the Amazon supplier. The computer would not function using the battery and I had a message that there was low disk space on the D portion of the harddrive.
fast processor, large hard drive, built in camera. After looking around, I decided that this computer offered a lot of bang for my buck. I hope it redeems itself in long, unconnected operating times. The computer was returned with a form saying that HP did not service this computer. It is an interesting accessory, however, providing quick start up.After having the computer about a month, I'd say it fits my needs well.
It does significantly add to the weight of the computer.UPDATE: I had an issue with the battery and a pop up error message. I should have bought the Mac. The computer arrived unscathed via UPS.It offers a lot of features that I wanted, e.g. After several hours with HP technician--4 of them--they agreed to having me send it back for repair. The only downside is a HUGE battery.
I was not expecting something this large. I just got it back--quick turn around time--but ABSOLUTELY DEPLORABLE service. This is the last HP product I'll buy.
